Hello everyone. My brother’s starting the Atkin’s Diet he did it once before and has just heard its now approved by American Health Administration. I wish he’d find one that when he’s done it sticks and he doesn’t gain weight back I know it’s hard I have dieted all my life up down up so I gave up. I’m 54 and 400 lbs there abuts and I just hope to drop or stay the same I sure don’t want to put more on. I have enough problems getting around with my arthritis and herniated stomach also a platelet of scar tissue in my stomach from 24 years ago when I had gangrene after my second baby’s c~section. I’m just thankful to see every new day and the sweet faces of my family..

Twentyfour years ago march 18,1983 I had a beautiful toe headed baby girl 8 pounds 13 1/4 ozs. at 8:13 on a friday  I was told before her birth that they couldn’t believe I was 30 years old  weight 416 lbs they said my vitals were so good they guess it was my first baby and I was 20 and weight 125 lbs that was great till I was wheel in for my c~section  they just took a man with gangrene in his leg off the table  and after she was born  friday I sleep saturday I was ready to go home I felt great doctor said stay one more day maybe sunday you can go home  he saw some red and decided I should stay monday, tuesday I had a black spot the size of a baseball. The doctor who did the section had his partner de bred the site (thats clip the black and  send it to be tested the doctor  at first clip ask if I felt any pain I didn’t) a other clip and  air rush out with a gas sound and a offal smell a thick grayish fluid flooded everywhere puddled on the floor. I can only say it was the most ovals smell I have ever smelt, the doctor wash his hands and peek in at me and said “You know your cute but you sure do stink”. The nurses had to wear mask not for health reasons but to help with the smell I would even ask for one they open windows and had fans brought to my room to try and air the room out they even had a plug in unite that held 3  10 inch long air freshener sticks running wide open I was place in a privet room and never saw the doctor who deliver the baby again till he deliver my granddaughter 3 years ago.

I truly never worried I knew I’d be ok JESUS was always confronting me. I was sad they sent my baby home and keep me from march 17 till April 5 I was told it was a miracle I should of been in till july and then sent home with visiting nurses but april 5 I went home . Two times a day morning and night a nurse would stop and clean the site. On July 2, 1983 I was told they wouldn’t be stopping any more and I was now aloud to drive a car I said “No one told me not to drive”. she said how long have I been driving . I said they day after I was relisted. Well there I go rambling  I hope I didn’t bore you if you read and if you didn’t thats ok to just as long as you stop and visit I’m glad. God Bless.

  • I hope the hospital paid your medical bills, since it was thier fault. I am glad you are okay. But what a thing to go through.

  • Hope Atkins works for your brother.  It usually always works, just maintaining the loss.  Only one thing works for the girls and I… good old common sense – careful eating, exercising and water!  It’s a constant thing in our house.   We do fine as long as we stay away from ‘evil’ drive-thru’s!  Which is easy at the present time, since we gave up fast food for Lent.  (No, I’m not Catholic – just raised that way and it’s a hard tradition to give up!)

I love it when you write, Tooty.  You could never, ever, bore me!  You have such a dear and warm heart that shines through your writing!

  • Wow, that was a rough experience, but I’m glad everything worked out well in the end. best wishes to your brother, and have a great weekend!

  • Thanks for stoping by my site all the time

    Hugs

  • You do well to relate this rough trial in your life Roberta . You have been much threatened by this dangerous gangrene . As you say this must be awful . But fortunatly there have been a kind of miracle .
And how is called your daughter that you gave birth of  ? It  s soon her birthday .

About birthday I see the yours was in Frebruary and I don’  t remember having told you happy birthday .
It ‘ s sure you weight is an handicap for you . Is there a particular reason for this ? And what do the doctor say about that ?

Thanks to share with us a part of your life as you already made about your youth some times ago .
    Have a great week end

    Love              Michel

  • I do hope the Atkins diet works well for your brother, Tooty.

  • Good luck to your brother.  I know people who have lost a lot of weight with it.  I love to eat so I’ll just try to control what i eat now because I know I will never stay on any diet.  One never knows what germs and such are in a hospital plently since it’s a hospital, I think if I had to go back and have my children today I would do home birth.  God has a purpose for you my friend we are all here for a purpose though we may not know what it is and we may find out later down the road of life we do have a purpose I’m glad God protected you because I value your friendship.  Thank you for the Birthday wishes.  Shirley

  • You’re a lot to love Tooty! Blessings…

  • Hello thank you for always stopping by to say hello. Glad things are better for you. God Bless Dorothy

  • Just wanted to stop by and give Hugs!!!  ~~~~~HUGS~~~~~~

  • I finally got on here and can thank you for your thoughtfulness on my birthday. I tried to send a thank you card, but everytime my pc just froze up on me. Since my birthday, I have hardly been on here, so much going on right now.

I am feeling pulled in so many directions and cannot seem to get caught up with everyone. Not only my friends, but my family must be wondering about me, as I owe everyone emails, etc.

That was a lot for you to go through, so glad that everything turned out ok. Good luck to your brother in losing weight. I found that if I eat my main meal at noontime then eat a lunch at night that I have lost a lot of weight.

Thanks again tootie for the cards for my birthday, they really meant a lot to me. You are a true friend!!!

    Edie Rose
